I ran the first pair of M&H's for several years at the drag strip and on the street without issue. Could be a pinhole leak that is difficult to detect, or faulty sealant in between the two halves, or a bead issue. I'm not sure what the issue is, as these are brand new M&H DOT tires and are the second set that have been installed on these CMS wheels (which I bought new from Walt J.). Might want to see what the guys running bead locks are using. To the op, I don't know the correct torque but a good starting point would be whatever a grade 8 bolt yields at, possibly lower.
with the cms wheels ,one of the first 2 new wheels I got was so bent I had to get another new wheel. Im thinken about a new set of tires for my cms wheels and possiably holing them and either repolish or a finish like my centerlines&monococks have(mono's were anodized,but they did not match each other :shock: so they got the super trick/centerline treetment and now match.although Ill never finish that car, 14x15 with 3.5 back spacing sure looks nice that way, polished they tend to burn your hands or leggs when you walk by in the sun.)ĭale M. no poop on easter, just spoted eggs.but be ware of the dog poop. as are my 3 sets of new weld wheels 15x3.5,14x15,15x15.I just dont get how these CMS being made for a vw automatically makes them crap.but I reckon it does. arnt the best looking but there hard, strong, bolted, light, round, true.and effing expensive. my 14x15 monoquecs :shock: nope I cant spell monococks correctly. mine are very soft too.not like any other wheel of this type Ive ever had. What is the torque recommendation for these 15 small bolts? I believe CMS was sold when the owner retired, so Walt is no longer reachable.
This wheel has the small bolts all around the hub perimeter to hold the two halves together (and a bead of silicone sealant to maintain tire pressure). I have some CMS two-piece "bolt together" wheels that are their street weight aluminum 0.190" thick.
